Empowering Social Entrepreneurs and Professionals to Leverage Early Recovery
Working towards inclusive business and social cohesion in Syria – Vocational & Educational Training
The project addresses the socio-economic impact of displacement by empowering youth through a TVET program, equipping them with market-responsive skills. The program included 750 hours of training and provided 22 micro-grants, each valued at €8,000 for entrepreneurial projects that drive both economic and social returns. These projects foster community cohesion, improve the local circular economy by addressing market needs, and promote collaboration. Syrian Geeks E-platform: The freelancers community empowered +1.7K Syrian youth across Syria, meeting urgent skill needs, building freelancing and tech careers, and enhancing community ties. Along with other community members, trainers, and Syrian Geeks community members, it has offered a mobile app, Mentor Guide, and hackathon solutions, boosting resilience and cross-sector synergy.
Empowering Graduates to Enter Labor Market
Strengthening Civic Structures in Syrian De-escalation Zones: Health, Women, and Local Councils
Awarded the IF Social Prize, the project aims to stabilize governance and strengthen civic structures in de-escalation zones in Northern and Southern Syria. It enhances public health services by increasing women’s representation in institutions, training and employing 180 women as Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Psychosocial Support Workers (PSWs). The initiative strengthens health governance structures and fosters sustainable, women-empowering networks in rural communities.
Empowering Local Markets Economy Using Renewable Energy
Enhancing Economic Development for MSMEs – Mini-Grids
Solar energy project in Northern Syria, trained 50 candidates in solar system skills, installed 10 mini-grids, and supported 345 MSMEs. It addressed urgent energy needs, fostered economic growth, and promoted peace-building through cooperatives. Partnerships with the Engineers Union, Insta Mentor, and local organizations enhanced resilience and collaboration.
Empowering Professionals with Advanced Skills to Leverage Services Access and Quality
IRD
The project addresses community instability by empowering healthcare human capital through specialized training in nursing and emergency medical services. By co-developing accredited diplomas and collaborating with healthcare organizations, it provides practical experience, resulting in 105 specialized nurses and 100 EMTs, increasing job opportunities and enhancing healthcare access in the region.
GIZ PTSD
The project aims to enhance mental health support in Northwest Syria by training participants in evidence-based CBT techniques. It improves the capacity of humanitarian MHPSS workers in the field of psychological counseling. The program increases the capacity of local professionals, fostering sustainable mental health care and improving access for both men and women.
