Women Empowerment in Political and Social Engagement
4Ps + 3Ps
The projects foster women's political participation through capacity-building, networking, and micro-grants, addressing humanitarian needs, development goals, and peace-building efforts. It engages diverse stakeholders to enhance community leadership, empowering 100 certified women and +180 beneficiaries across Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey while fostering sustainable local networks and inclusive governance.
The project empowered Syrian women from local communities by enhancing their political engagement through training, research, and advocacy. With expert guidance, participants conducted studies and discussions, producing research on women's participation. Through capacity-building, networking, and micro-grants, the project supported 100 certified women across Syria, Lebanon, and Türkiye. These efforts fostered inclusive dialogue, strengthened local leadership, and ensured a sustainable impact beyond the project’s duration.
Empowering Local Actors to Respond to Crises
Rehabilitation of Endangered Schools
In 2023, Christian Aid and MIDMAR rehabilitated 14 schools in earthquake-affected Idleb, Syria, addressing urgent needs, enhancing education, and fostering stability through safe, inclusive spaces. Public-private-non-profit collaboration delivered sustainable outcomes, increasing enrollment by 10% and enhancing community resilience.
Ramadan Earthquake Response in Syria & Türkiye
Türkiye Response: MIDMAR supported 1,350 earthquake-affected Gaziantep families with $400 aid cards to address urgent needs and enhance welfare through an Eid Carnival for 132 orphans. Working in partnership with Şahinbey Municipality, markets, and volunteers, it improved resilience and stability.
Syria Response: MIDMAR’s intervention in earthquake-affected Syria supported vulnerable families with feast gifts, Ramadan meals, Eid carnivals, and a closing ceremony, addressing immediate needs, enhancing well-being, and fostering community stability. Partnerships with public entities, private kitchens, and four CBOs ensured impactful, sustainable aid across Idlib regions.
Empowering Community Agents to Build and Sustain Peace
Syria Peacebuilding Program — IRD
The project focuses on conflict analysis and peace-building through focused dialogue groups with key local actors, mitigating risks due to ongoing conflict. It combines soft skills, like conflict resolution and consensus-building, with technical skills in project management and financial planning. By engaging displaced women and local communities, the project fosters inclusivity, community cohesion, and capacity building in the region.
Advancement of Health Levels in Syria — AHL Syria
The project creates a cross-geographical, tech-driven space for Syrian healthcare workers to connect and interact, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. It facilitates skill-building through quality content and research, promoting dialogue and enhancing service delivery. By engaging in the community, it supports sustainable healthcare solutions and strengthens the sector’s capacity.
Empowering Vulnerable Groups to Overcome Violations
Sawt Al Adale
This project advances justice and accountability by documenting human rights abuses, while MIDMAR contributes by providing psychological support. This service helps documentation teams manage trauma from working with survivors and families of the missing, ensuring their mental well being and sustaining their capacity to continue justice efforts.
Survivor-Led Accountability for Syria's Crimes — From Captivity to Community
This project aims to document cases of gender based violence and missing individuals in Syria, providing legal awareness and support to victims and their families as part of an inclusive peace-building effort. To date, 100 cases have been documented.
