Syndicates Empowerment

The project aims to enhance the operational, technical, and organizational capabilities of Syrian syndicates, empowering them to play a vital social, political, and service role. By strengthening these organizations, the project promotes sustainability, capacity-building, and governance, addressing the challenges of limited resources and coordination to enable them to serve their communities effectively.

Building Materials and Soil Testing Laboratory

After the 6 February earthquake, our project in Idlib “Rehabilitation of Material and Soil Lab (MSL)” improved construction safety and community resilience by launching a materials testing lab and specialized training programs. Collaboration with UNDP, suppliers, and White Helmets enhanced resource-sharing and innovation, driving sustainable progress across sectors.

Empowering Professional Bodies to Leverage Collective Action

MIDMAR supported 1,350 earthquake-affected Gaziantep families with $400 aid cards to address urgent needs and enhance welfare through an Eid Carnival for 132 orphans. Working in partnership with Şahinbey Municipality, markets, and volunteers, it improved resilience and stability.

MIDMAR’s intervention in earthquake-affected Syria supported vulnerable families with feast gifts, Ramadan meals, Eid carnivals, and a closing ceremony, addressing immediate needs, enhancing well-being, and fostering community stability. Partnerships with public entities, private kitchens, and four CBOs ensured impactful, sustainable aid across Idlib regions.

Empowering Community Grassroots to Leverage Access and Impact in Community Support

The project addresses the challenges of localized aid by empowering community-based organizations (CBOs) with the skills and resources to enhance their social impact. Through capacity-building, micro-grants, and networking events, it fosters collaboration and cross-geographical connections. This strengthens local networks and increases participation, leading to sustainable community-level change.

CCSII

The project empowers local actors to enhance community cohesion through capacity-building, social micro-grants, and knowledge development. By mapping local networks and assessing collective capabilities using the SCORE Index, it fosters collaboration across geographies. The initiative supports sustainable impact through bridging bonds, strengthening social actors, and investing in their knowledge for future growth.

AFNS

In northwestern Syria, the White Helmets (WH) and MIDMAR's AFNS Research Initiative maps 954 communities with 3,000 volunteers. The initiative expands humanitarian action, development, and peacebuilding through empowering local populations, mainstreaming marginalized groups, and designing evidence-based, sustainable interventions through participatory community engagement and capacity assessments.

Empowering Public Directorates to Leverage Service Quality and Access

The project aims to address the critical gap in Syria's health system by enhancing the qualifications of healthcare workers through tailored capacity-building programs. Focused on empowering Syrian NGOs and health directorates, it equips administrative staff with essential skills, supporting effective health service delivery and strengthening the local healthcare infrastructure amid ongoing challenges.
